Shows

UPAC Sound can provide a capable crew and all the equipment necessary for your show. Our capabilities include

Concerts
Dance parties
Choral
Speeches / Presentations
Etc.

There are 3 show systems to choose from. The system choice is determined by the type of show and location. Please see our inventory page for specific equipment provided in each system. While we have packaged equipment together to meet the needs of the majority of the shows on campus, we can also combind systems or parts of systems, in addition to renting additional equipment as necessary to meet the needs of all the shows on campus.

In addition to the systems below, we also have access to the sound systems installed in Mothers Wine Emporium on the 1st floor of the Rensselaer Union and the Academy Hall Auditorium.

House System (A-Rig)

largest system most often seen in the McNeil Room

12,000 watt
monitors available upon request
used for live concerts and large dances

LA System (B-Rig)

Smaller system most often seen used in smaller academic buildings

monitors available upon request
used for speaches, presentations, and smaller shows

Mackie System (C-Rig)

Smallest system used for vocal reinforcement

800 watt
used for speaches, presentations, and small shows in smaller venues

Rentals

Due to a change in union policy, we can no longer rent to fraternities.

Our rental equipment can be used for small dances, simple music playback reinforcement, or any shows where technicians are not needed.

Note: The majority of our events are staffed, please reffer to the shows page for information about our staffed systems.

Please note that the mackie system is not rented for off-campus events.

Included with each system rental is a mixing console and up to four (4) microphones. Microphones and Mixing consoles are also available to rent seperately from the system packages above. Mixers and Microphones available for rental are listed below.
